What is Spray Polyurethane Foam?
SPF is a thick (generally 1-2″) coating applied with plural-component spray equipment. To create the foam spray, two liquids chemically “crosslink” and react instantaneously, immediately expanding within seconds. This expansion is typically 20 – 30 times the volume of the original liquids. Spray foam can be used on its own for superior insulation or as part of a multi-component, high-build protective coating system. For example, in exterior roofing and other exposed applications, SPF is ready for a protective/reflective topcoat, such as acrylic, polyurea, polyaspartic, polyurethane, or silicone, within minutes.
