Water Feature Polyurea Liner

Project Overview
In 2014, the city of Beverly Hills, CA, renovated its Lily Pond water feature, which had been filled with dirt for years. They wanted to expand the size and upgrade the plant life and vegetation in the water feature. They needed a durable liner that could withstand both plant growth and ground movement in the area.
Application
Innovative Painting and Waterproofing began by shot blasting the concrete to the required CSP-3 profile. The cracks were then filled with Freedomtuff 5145 polyurea caulking. Next, the Freedomtuff 6160 epoxy primer was applied at 10 mils, followed by Freedomtuff 2202 polyurea at 100 mils. The beauty of polyurea is how quickly it cures, allowing IPW to wrap the project in record time.
Results
The polyurea liner continues to maintain long-term integrity, providing a seamless, flexible, and watertight barrier that withstands both hydrostatic pressure and substrate movement. Since installation, it has effectively prevented leakage and deterioration, ensuring the water feature remains fully functional and structurally protected.
